Tropical Smoothie Cafe Manager Job Description
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is hiring immediately for Managers to join our team!
The Manager is responsible for leading the FOH and BOH operations of the Cafe. The Manager will spend time performing managerial duties, as well as some Front of house and back of house functions. Key responsibilities include hiring, managing, training and disciplining restaurant team members as well as the management team. The Manager is responsible for ensuring excellent guest experience, the safety of our guests, team members and property, and product quality. The position will lead and develop the manager to drive catering and increased sales. The Manager must hit operational and sales goals for the Cafe, as well as operate within brand standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
▪ Delivers unparalleled hospitality to each customer and ensure customer satisfaction
▪ Interacts with crew members and customers using ‘Tropitude’ (Tropitude is our “mojo” and means having energy and creating a positive atmosphere).
▪ Wears an “Manager Uniform ” in operating store.
▪ Knowledgeable and proficient in each position within the cafe.
▪ Successful completion of the Cafe Basics, Certified Trainer, and Crew Leader Training Programs.
▪ Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new Crew Members to ensure the café is staffed at the appropriate level.
▪ Manages and delegates daily functions of the cafe including prepping product, making food and smoothies, serving customers, and completing daily and weekly cleaning duties.
▪ Leads and coaches Assistant Managers and staff during each shift to ensure brand standards are upheld.
▪ Manages the brand experience, including hospitality, quality control, and speed of service.
▪ Ensures all safety and security policies are being followed as set by the brand.
▪ Monitors sales growth and cost control of the store against the budgeted expectation and historical performance to maximize profitability.
▪ Leads marketing and promotional campaigns. Executes marketing and sales programs following guidelines.
▪ Hires and trains cross functional Team Members to ensure the store is staffed at the appropriate level.
▪ Manages labor to ensure proper staffing levels to meet the budget and sales strategy.
▪ Manages the inventory and par levels.
▪ Ensures equipment is operable to execute brand standards.
▪ Drives Servsafe compliance and proper food handling procedures.
▪ Performs any additional tasks necessary to run the store.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
▪ 5 years of food service experience.
▪ Legally able to work within the State and Federal guidelines.
▪ Servsafe certification preferred
▪ Strong in driving operational execution in both FOH and BOH.
▪ Self-starter; able to clarify ambiguity, make solid decisions, and create solutions in a fast-paced organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
▪ Continuous standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift.
▪ Bending, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds to perform duties like stocking, refilling ice, or taking out trash.
▪ Constant face-to-face interactions with crew members and customers.
▪ Safely navigate in a fast-paced café environment.
▪ Ability to multi-task and remain positive in sometimes stressful working conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Managers can expect to have a 40-hour work week, dictated by the needs of the business.
Some early mornings, late evenings, weekend, and/or holiday hours and will have additional opening/closing responsibilities.
Leads Crew Members and Leaders by demonstrating Tropical Smoothie Cafes core values in all interactions.
Comply with the Tropical Smoothie Cafe uniform and personal hygiene policies for each shift.

Comfortable with a high level of change.
Previous experience in management or as a general manager, hotel general manager, store manager, restaurant manager or retail manager preferred, but not required! Those with experience at Hyatt, Avis Budget Group, Transdev, Burger King, Equity Lifestyle Properties or other restaurant/retail/hospitality positions encouraged to apply!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week

To start, you should be responsible and proficient in the cafe's different positions, able to lead and supervise staff, and ready to train new hires. Managers are required to complete cafe basics, certified trainer, and crew leader programs. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, supervising, motivating, coaching, and enforcing company policies and procedures to ensure excellent guest and employee experiences.
Also, managers must ensure the safety of all customers and employees, as well as protecting cafe property. They must also follow brand standards and goals. Managers should work within the budget, follow the sales strategy, manage inventory and par levels, and ensure proper food-handling procedures and ServSafe compliance.
